Why Become a LaidOffCampNY Sponsor?

 

LaidOffCampNY is a two day gathering of individuals in professional transition who are looking to gain new perspectives, discover new passions, and/or reinvent their career.  We are currently seeking sponsors for the event, which is scheduled for Friday May 1st & Saturday May 2nd, 2009.

What Is LaidOffCamp?

LaidOffCamp is a self-organized conference that features an open, participatory forum designed to educate, empower, and connect community members through discussion.  Panels, workshops, and discussions will explore a variety of topics: building your personal brand, transitioning to a new industry, legal & accounting demands of launching a new business, finding affordable health insurance, alternative working spaces, alternative income sources, and how to become a freelancer.

 

Why We Need You

Created and hosted by volunteers, the conference is populated with experts participating in the event without any compensation. There are, however, costs associated with renting the event space, providing food & refreshments, signage, and other administrative costs.  We expect our budget to be $10,000.  If you’re interested, we can provide a full breakdown of those costs in detail.

 

What You Get as a LaidOffCampNY Sponsor

Sponsorship will put your company in front of hundreds of attendees as well as the national and local press covering this very important event.  Our event has already been covered by significant news sources including The New York Times, Time Out New York, and others.  Similar events have already been held in other cities with great success and media coverage.  Banner Ad's are running on our Media Partner sites: The Business Insider (Silicon Alley Insider), CenterNetworks, GarysGuide, and Recessionwire.

 

As a sponsor, you will have an opportunity to attend and participate at the conference bringing your expertise in a relevant topic to the attendees (no pitches, please!)  Schwag, giveaways, and prizes are welcome.  Feel free to contact the organizers if you've got something you'd like to give away so we can coordinate.

 

Since donations are being made through our friends at Grassroots.org, a registered 501(c)3, your donations will be tax deductible!  Also, you will have the warm, fuzzy feeling you get from helping people find new ways to jump start their lives and restart tri-state New York’s economy.  And you can’t put a price on that.

  • Logo's with link on the main Website, main & landing page of EventBrite registration process.
  • Logo's projected in the lobby and stage at Friday night's event
  • Sponsor's placard displayed at key locations on Saturday
  • Tables specifically for Sponsor's marketing materials on Saturday
  • A Sponsors - Activities room, with tables & chairs
  • Areas where sponsors can present during the lunch time period.

 

When you sponsor, we'll get your logo up on the site ASAP, so the sooner you sponsor, the more exposure you get.
