In order to make LaidOffCamp a success we need to really get the word out

  • Get more people signed up on Facebook / Upcoming / LinkedIn
  • Would love to find some method (forum / facebook group / ning) to get attendees talking before the event
    • TwitPolls/ LinkedIn Polls to find out what people would like to get out of the day
    • Lefora (free branded forums)  See if they would be a sponsor AND help promote the event
  • Get popular blogs (Scoble, Pirillo, TechCrunch, etc.) talking about the event to spread awareness
  • Get traditional media involved
  • Get on community calendars
  • Contact local startup incubators
  • Contact local co-working spots
  • Talk to the chamber of commerce
  • Find and contact groups/organizations that work with unemployed people / jobseekers
  • Find and contact groups/organizations for entrepreneurs / startups
  • Find and contact groups/organizations for consultants / freelancers
