  • Karen Burns, author of the just-released The Amazing Adventures of Working Girl: Real Life Career Advice You Can Actually Use,  will talk about “the most important thing you need to know to get and keep a job.”  Karen has actually had 59 jobs, over a period of 40 years, in 22 cities and four countries.  She has written more cover letters, crafted more resumes, and been on more interviews than she can count.  She will gladly share all her tips on job hunting and job retaining with you.  Karen now lives in Seattle but she grew up in Phoenix, where 25 of the 59 jobs took place.  (Oh, and she was fired from only one job, in case you’re wondering.)  Visit Karen’s site, www.karenburnsworkinggirl.com, for lots more info.

    • is doing something completely different from their college degree;
    • didn't go to college;
    • has been laid off more than once.
